Stories from Our DLG Girls: Lilli

Finding connection through movement

Welcome back to Stories from Our DLG Girls, where we spotlight the women who join Dream Life Getaways and share their journeys, from what life looked like before the trip, to their time with us, and where they are now.

For this edition, meet Lilli.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Lilli Jankovich, I’m 21 years old and from Toronto, Canada! I’m deeply passionate about health, wellness, and romanticizing my life. As a Pilates instructor, I love helping others connect with their bodies through mindful movement.

I’m also a huge foodie and love creating nourishing dishes. Beyond wellness and food, I’ve always been drawn to adventure, creativity, and connection. I thrive in dynamic environments and love building community with like-minded women.

Through teaching, content creation, and travel, I hope to inspire others to embrace balance, joy, and confidence in their everyday lives. I share much of this on my Instagram page, @lifewithlillli, where I post Pilates workouts, recipes, and wellness tips. It’s my creative outlet and a space where I hope others find inspiration to slow down, appreciate small moments, and discover what truly lights them up. And if I ever go missing, you can probably find me watching the sunrise or sunset, it’s my favourite way to begin and end the day.

Why did you decide to join Dream Life Getaway? Was Morocco your first solo trip?

I’ve been lucky to experience a few solo adventures before, each one shaping me in different ways. One of the most transformative was my trip to Portugal, where I earned my Pilates certification. What began as a way to heal my body turned into something much deeper, it pushed me out of my comfort zone, taught me discipline, and completely changed how I approached wellness.

I first heard about Dream Life Getaway from my friend Bri, who had such an incredible experience. At first, none of the dates fit my schedule, but eventually one lined up perfectly. I took it as a sign it was meant to be, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. When else would I get the chance to explore Morocco in such a unique way?

How did you feel arriving in Morocco, stepping into a house full of girls you’d never met?

I actually arrived a day early, and the moment I stepped off the plane I knew Morocco was unlike anywhere I’d been before. The energy felt so vibrant and alive. I stayed in a hostel my first night and met up with Mascha, which already set the tone for the adventure ahead!

From day one, it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale. Meeting all the girls for the first time on the rooftop is a memory I’ll never forget. Hearing everyone’s stories and feeling how naturally we all clicked made me so excited for the week ahead.

What stood out to you most about Morocco itself?

The contrasts. The colourful skies, the beaches, the food, the culture, and the people, all felt so rich and full of life. One moment I was wandering through lively markets, and the next I was surfing or watching the most peaceful sunset. The mix of adventure and calm made Morocco such a uniquely balanced experience.

What led you to start teaching Pilates, and what advice would you give to someone thinking of getting certified?

I first fell in love with Pilates during injury rehab. What began as a way to heal my body completely transformed my mindset and connection to movement. It taught me strength, discipline, and balance, and I knew I wanted to share that with others.

Becoming certified was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s hard work, learning anatomy, sequencing, and teaching, but so rewarding. My advice: don’t overthink it. If Pilates excites you, follow that spark. Find a program that inspires you, even if it pushes you outside your comfort zone, and trust that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

From Canada to Morocco, Lilli takes the leap into solo travel and self-discovery. A women’s retreat that blends adventure, mindfulness, and connection.

What was it like to bring that love for movement into the DLG experience and guide a class for the group?

It honestly felt surreal. Teaching on the rooftop at sunset, surrounded by incredible women, was such a full-circle moment for me. The group’s energy was amazing, everyone was open, present, and connected. It reminded me why I started teaching in the first place: to create shared experiences that make people feel empowered and at peace in their bodies.

Was there a moment during the week that shifted your mindset or perspective?

Definitely. Mascha had this list of thoughtful questions she’d pull out during meals or downtime, deep, intentional questions that sparked real conversation. It created such a safe space for everyone to open up, and it changed how I think about connection.

Those conversations showed me that depth in relationships doesn’t depend on time, it happens when you create space for vulnerability. Since then, I’ve brought that lesson home and even use Mascha’s list of questions with my own friends. It’s such a beautiful way to connect and grow together.

What’s one memory from Morocco you’ll never forget?

I don’t even know where to begin, the week was filled with so many core memories I’ll cherish forever. One of my favourites was our first night together, sharing dinner on the rooftop. We watched the most breathtaking sunset, the sky painted in shades of orange, pink, and yellow that left all of us in awe. I probably took 118,282 pictures of it. It was a Friday night, and we enjoyed the most delicious couscous. I learned that couscous is more than just food in Morocco, it’s a cultural dish tied to family gatherings, Friday prayers, and centuries-old Berber traditions, a real symbol of unity and hospitality. Sitting there, laughing until we were crying and diving into the most meaningful conversations, I knew in that moment how special the week ahead would be, and how lucky I was to be surrounded by such an incredible group of like-minded girls. Here's a photo of our very first sunset on that first night , the colors are absolutely insane and I still think of this night all the time. :')

Fast forward to our last night, we all sat together on the rooftop again, passing around our journals and writing little messages in each other’s notebooks. We shared our favourite memories and the small things we loved about one another, someone’s energy, their big heart, or the impact they made on our week. It was such a meaningful way to close out the trip and capture everything we’d experienced together. I waited until I was back on the plane to read them all, reliving such a special week, something I still look back on with so much gratitude.

Since coming home, what’s one thing you’ve carried back into your daily life? The biggest thing I’ve carried home is the importance of surrounding myself with women who lift me up. I’ve never felt so seen and supported, and that reminded me to nurture friendships that feel genuine and energizing.

A community built through movement and adventure — women finding balance, courage, and connection on a Moroccan wellness retreat.

We’re grateful to Lilli for sharing her story with us. The calm strength and openness she brought to Morocco touched everyone she met, and we hope her reflections do the same for those reading along.
